Cooling Stations

The0 The Birmingham Salvation Army is offering cooling stations for anyone needing it as heat continues in our area. Direct anyone you see that may need it to behind 2130 11th Ave. North in Birmingham. For Shelby County residents, you can go to 108 Plaza Circle, Suite E in Alabaster from 1pm-4pm. There you can find a cool place to relax, watch movies, play games and of course get out of the heat. We have made it through some pretty difficult heat conditions but the danger is still possible. Remember, injury and death can occur from dehydration, which can happen quickly and unnoticed. Symptoms of dehydration are often confused with other causes. Your body needs water to keep cool. Water is the safest liquid to drink during heat emergencies. More details to come as weather warrants it. Stay Safe!
